When going through your list of things to do, set deadlines that are actually earlier than necessary. “A million details” will always pop up in the last few weeks, so you can plan ahead and make sure you’ve got everything else under control as early as possible. With the extra time you’ll have, you’ll be able to address other issues and ideas that you may not have thought about ahead of time.

DON’T DELAY THE TABLE PLAN.

We understand that one of the most daunting tasks of wedding preparation is the seating chart. However, the best way to get through it with most of your sanity intact is to start arranging the tables as soon as the RSVPs are returned. This way it never becomes too big a task and you can edit it as you go.

CREATE YOUR WOW VOWS.

Even the smartest and most capable brides and grooms can crumble under the pressure of writing the perfect vows. Set aside some time early on, to write down some notes and thoughts and any sort of inspiration that comes your way. If you keep this up from time to time, you’ll definitely be ready when the time comes.

DRESS REHEARSAL.

If it’s possible, set up a walk-through rehearsal and your ceremony and reception venues. Invite your florist and photographer to come along and help you review the timeline and design vision for the day. You’ll gain peace of mind knowing that everyone is on the same page, and everything is going to plan.

LET GO.
