Create a magical wedding experience at State Library Victoria. Their team can help you plan your dream day, whether it’s a small and intimate reception or a more opulent ceremony.
Opened in 1856 as the Library’s original reading room, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall is one of Melbourne’s most breathtaking historical venues. Featuring a newly renovated 19th-century interior evoking the splendour of ‘Marvellous Melbourne’, it is an unforgettable venue for your wedding reception, end-of-year celebration, musical soiree or theatrical performance.
The Library’s most spectacular architectural highlight is the La Trobe Reading Room’s dome, a truly impressive centerpiece for a special event.
Exquisitely restored in 2003, the La Trobe Reading Room features custom-built desks of Queensland silky oak timber, heritage chairs and traditional green reading lamps. Centered under the soaring dome, the dais creates a unique setting for keynote speakers and live performances.
